I have a lot experience shooting small pistols, including kahrs. 40 and is much easier to shoot well, so yes common sense plays a factor here. The k40 is fairly easy to shoot well because of the heavier metal frame. 40 to 9mm but I would probably choose the mk 9 for my personal preference. I've never shot a mk 40 but I'm sure it shoots nice too, but has a little less finger room to hold on to. I have a Kahr k40 and it shoots very nice.
Just because someone prefers another caliber besides 9mm doesn't mean everyone else who prefers something different has no common sense. What people like to shoot has nothing to do with common sense. Some people don't like the plastic guide rod, but I've never had a problem. Lakeline LLC makes some G10 grips, which I've been looking at. Negatives: Standard nylon grip can be slippy if your hands are wet or damp, so a grip wrap would be good idea. The standard "snowman" sights are usable, but I am up-grading to XS Standard Dots for faster target acquisition. I also prefer the soft contour of the Mk9 trigger face over the ribbed face of the P938 trigger. Grip feels more defined and I intuitively know where the gun is pointing when I bring the sights onto the target. The Mk9 feels virtually the same in the hand as the Sig P938, but has a little more heft which I prefer. Felt odd at first, but now I don't give it a second thought. Standard flush fit magazine (6 rounds for the Mk9) is a definite two finger grip with the pinky curled under the magazine floor plate. Depending on how your dress for the day and the type of holster, you may be able to carry an extended magazine. In winter, it would disappear in a heavy jacket pocket. Some random thoughts: The Mk9 is a little heavy for a pocket holster, IWB carry is best for summer. No experience with the Mk40 so I can't compare. I have both the Kahr Mk9 and K9, both are flawless and a joy to shoot. I don't see much chatter on this board about Kahr pistols so I am hoping for a bit of feed back. The MK40 looks like what I am searching for. It was one of their most expensive 9mm pistols and the quality was top notch. I had a Kahr some time back in 9mm but gave it to my step-mother after her home was broken into. So I have on order at the shop I work at a Kahr MK40. I would like a Glock 43 but no way am I going to pay double the retail price. My Kimber rides in a Miami Classic shoulder rig pretty comfortably but thats not a very good summer time carry. Its just too bulky and I have not found the perfect holster if one exists. I try to carry the G23 inside the wasteband and its ok as long as I am not sitting.

So right now my three choices are my G23, my Kimber Pro Carry Ii and my Smith & Wesson 325 Thunder Ranch. I have a Glock 23 which I love and shoot well. So I am getting close to my CCW interview and still am searching for a pistol to be my main carry.
